Masonry Restoration - Photos

Before:
Deteriorating brick and mortar on the top 4’ of the parapet wall.

After:
The top 4’ of the parapet wall was ground out then tuckpointed 100% along will brick replacement where necessary.

Before: The top portion of this parapet wall had bowed so badly a portion of it fell down.

After:The parapet wall was rebuilt to a sound and secure condition.

Before:This parapet wall was bowing and spalling so nothing short of rebuilding would do.
After:

After the rebuilding process the wall is level and plumb with all new masonry.

Before:

Front view of an industrial building when the entire masonry facade collapsed. A truck backed into the dock and accidentally hit the support column and pulled out the I-Beam.

After:

The I-Beams were reinstalled and the entire masonry facade was rebuilt using concrete block on the interior and face brick on the exterior.

Before:

Side view of the same masonry wall above. Notice the displaced section of brick.

After:

The side column had to be rebuilt as well. Notice the close brick match to the original.

Part of the wall on this mid-rise building had to be replaced due to the inferior quality of the brick – it was very porous and brittle.

After:

All deteriorated masonry was carefully replaced.

Before:

The brick on these firewalls and parapet walls were severely
spalled and damaged due to surface abrasion and moisture
penetration.

After:

These walls were rebuilt using new SW rated face brick providing
a new, structurally sound bond between the masonry and mortar.

Before:

This photo illustrates what ice and water damage can do
to brick if gutters and downspouts are not functioning properly.
Water left to run down the walls and freeze can severely
erode the brick and mortar.

After:

ARROW repaired the wall
by not only replacing the gutters and downspouts (the source
of the problem) but all the spalled brick as well.

Before:

This silo was in need of serious masonry restoration. The top of the silo was collapsing and there was practically no mortar left in between the brick.

After:

ARROW rebuilt the upper portion of the silo using the original brick, then ground out and tuckpointed the balance of the silo to insure the soundness of the structure.

Before:

This parapet wall was leaning and the bricks were deteriorating so it needed to be rebuilt. Protection of the roof is an important factor in the rebuilding process.

During:

Plumb lines are installed and the new wall is rebuilt with wall ties every 16” O.C.

After:
New masonry is laid, level and plumb and the capstones are installed. Flashing and capstone joints are sealed with caulk.

Before:

A portion of this wall was bowing out and needed to be dismantled.

After:

The wall was rebuilt to a sound secure condition using new face brick to match the existing as close as stock would allow.

Before: A car crashed into this support column in a retail center and demolished the brick.

After: The column was rebuilt with the proper core fill on the interior and face brick on the exterior.
